About Me

When a person’s reflection on a mirror-lake is disturbed by subtle ripples, one can see both a reflection and what lies beneath, presenting the viewer with two extremes of a subject: the superficial and the fathomless.

My work is meant to capture a similar fleeting moment: when passions and despair that dwell in the depths of the body flicker into focus. My paintings fragment and distort the body and face to displace the emotion-concealing facades that people wear daily, exposing the moment when the figure is most vulnerable and isolated. However, in these precarious moments, there is self-discovery and clarity of thought. A brief glimpse of what lies between serenity and volatility.
