Status: Complete, would really love to do this on a large scale though. 18"x24" with high quality archival watercolors. The school grade watercolors used to do this have already faded and are by no means as vibrant as in the photograph.
Overall, this felt like a study piece. Not content to see this in my portfolio.

Status: near completion. I need to make this have a more drop-ish feel. Like that feeling you get when you hear something devastating and your heart sinks. I want this to have that kind of feel. I want to show what its like to be a truly invested artist. Even the most graceful arts like ballet give dancers broken and mangled toes. As a mixed media artist, I've had my hands sliced countless times by glass, knives, sharp clay particles. I've been burned by glue guns, soldering irons, pots used to melt wax and rabbit-skin glue. The red "blood" is meant to be not the main focus. It's something hidden. It's the beauty and pain underneath.
